Hurel-Hispano delivers 100th nacelle for the Airbus A340-500/600

Toulouse, 12 June, 2003 : Hurel-Hispano delivered today the 100th nacelle for the Airbus A340-500/600. The nacelle will be delivered to Singapore Airlines, the first in a series of five aircraft on order this year. Hurel-Hispano celebrated this milestone achievement during a ceremony that took place at its Colomiers plant near Toulouse, with Airbus and other major partners in attendance.

Hurel-Hispano is responsible for the thrust reverser and the final integration of all nacelle sub-components on the A340-500/600, either produced internally or by other specialist partners, including Airbus France, EADS Casa, Aeronca and GKN Westland. 48 nacelles were delivered in 2002 (the first year of production) and 132 are scheduled for 2003.

Christian Knapp, Chairman & CEO of Hurel-Hispano, commented on the importance of this delivery as a consolidation of the company’s presence in the nacelle market :
