16 BOEING C-17 airlifters
now in service
with Messier-Bugatti
wheels and carbon brakes

To date, sixteen C-17 Globemaster III military cargo aircraft equipped with Messier-Bugatti wheels and carbon brakes are already in service in the US Air Force (USAF).
Messier-Bugatti was chosen by the USAF in November 2000, after winning an international request for proposals (RFP). Messier-Bugatti signed the contract with Boeing Long Beach in January 2001 to be the sole supplier of wheels and SepCarb® III OR (Oxidation Resistant) carbon brakes for all C-17 Globemaster III aircraft. The contract covers a minimum of 135 aircraft: 89 are already in service and will be retrofitted by Messier-Bugatti starting in mid 2004, while manufacturing of the other 46 is underway and will be completed in 2006.

The wheels and SepCarb® III OR brakes are on display at the company’s stand: Hall 2A-D11.
